Boost your RSS subscriber base with RSS directories
June 6th, 2008There are web directories for websites, so not surprisingly there would be a bunch of RSS directories springing up in order to supply heaps of RSS feeds from many different blogs and other websites. If you don’t know where to find the right places, submitting your RSS feed(s) to directories can be a tedious task. Well, no more I say. I managed to hit the jackpot* with this great article from DotSauce. They have rounded up 55 RSS directories for you to check out, and most of them don’t require an account to sign up! I stumbled this article like a drunken fighter, and there’s no doubt that a lot of other people liked it too (check out the backlinks in the article’s comment section). It’s probably the most useful article for my blog that I found this week.
Are these directories worth your time?
*The Bad Server tax takes away 20% from this jackpot meaning that 20% of the links may be invalid now. So the list isn’t perfect, but it’s still not bad for a list of 55 websites. Remember, you don’t have to register an account to use most of them. You should go ahead and try submitting your feeds to all of them if you have 30-45 minutes to spare. This is promotion for lazy people, and consistent results are not guaranteed, but you really have nothing to lose here. I have no clue on what the PageRank for any of these pages are, either, but maybe I’ll check ‘em out later with some online PR tool. I’ll also let you know how my subscriber base has changed later on, when I update this article. Happy linking and clicking!
