what is the best vacuum for long hair, and long haired pets?
I asked the question because every ones answers were not helpful to me.
I start with I have 2 long haired dogs (large) and 5 daughters, most with long hair and my hair is 5 feet long. NO I am not stretching the truth!
By far the best vacuum I have ever used is a dyson animal. here's why:
1. strong suction
2. the brush roller is the best design I have ever seen. the roller can be removed with a simple tool, I even used a spoon today. You unlock and twist the door to the side of the roller and the roller slips right out! it's a snap to cut the long hair off the roller! then you slide it right back in.
3. Easy to empty the canister.
4. no bags to buy, you buy the vaccum once and you're done. even the hepa filter is washable, lifetime filter.
the downsides:
1. expensive. I used some of my tax refund and got one. the animal is about $500
2. the attachment hose is kind of short.
that's it!

I have to agree, Dyson is definitely one of the top 3 best vacuums out there. Others that fit your parameters would be the Aerus Lux and the Miele.
